Another full day of travel.

(Clockwise: Arizona- the exact opposite of New Zealand; My first sight of the USA in almost two years; Southwest was kind enough to provide me with some Spanish translation fun in their in-flight magazine.)

112For the conclusion of our adventure, we took advantage of having a vehicle and drove out to Wellington’s Red Rocks before we had to turn in our campervan. There in a small outcropping of rocks in Owhiro Bay that are red, purple, green, and orange, and they were pretty amazing to see this morning. I’m going to miss your strange beauty, New Zealand!

IMG_0758-0.JPGWe spent the night at the Kiriwhakapapa campsite outside of Masterton. In the morning, we decided to do some tramping, and ended up spending four hours trying to find the Blue Range Hut. We climbed straight up the Tararuas (and by straight up, I mean vertically) for 2 and half hours, but never found the hut. We decided it would be safer to turn back. Although we didn’t find what we were searching for, we did get to see these beautiful gigantic redwoods.
